Dunedin fosters an ever-expanding culture of movement and well-being. Whether you’re looking for a high-energy workout, a competitive game, or a relaxing yoga session, Dunedin Parks & Recreation is the perfect place to stay active and engaged. We are proud to provide a wide range of fitness, health, and wellness opportunities for everyone, from children to seniors. So, grab your sneakers, pick up a paddle, or join a class— because no one rolls fitness, fun, and friendship into one happy ball like Dunedin!
Our newest amenity aligned with healthy living and community engagement is the newly built pickleball courts at Eagle Scout Park. These ten state-of-the-art courts provide residents with an exciting way to stay active while socializing with friends and family. Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the game, the courts are open to all skill levels, making them a fantastic addition to the City’s recreation offerings.
While the pickleball courts are a major achievement, Dunedin’s commitment to active living extends far beyond pickleball. The Parks & Recreation Department offers a variety of programs that cater to different interests and abilities in order to help keep people of all ages moving and engaged. For example, fitness enthusiasts can participate in classes such as cycling, yoga, Pilates, Zumba, strength training, or functional fitness. These classes provide a welcoming environment where individuals can build strength, flexibility, and overall wellness. As always, we also encourage children to stay active and healthy. A variety of youth programs, including archery, basketball, karate, tennis, track, and cross-country, provide our youth the opportunity to develop skills, teamwork, and endurance in a fun and supportive setting. These activities not only keep kids physically fit, they also help build confidence and social connections.
Dunedin’s most popular fitness event returns in May. Get ready to run, walk, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere at the 26th annual Dunedin's Hog Hustle 5K on Saturday, May 3rd, at 8:00AM, hosted at the Hale Senior Activity Center. The Hog Hustle is more than just a race—it’s a community celebration!
Bring your friends and family to cheer you on as you navigate a beautiful route filled with scenic views of our charming city. Whether you’re competing for your best time or just participating for fun, it’s the perfect opportunity to get outside and get moving. After crossing the finish line, participants will be treated to a delicious pancake breakfast provided by the Kiwanis Club of Dunedin as well as raffle prizes. What better way to refuel than with a stack of pancakes and syrup, surrounded by the friendly faces of fellow runners and local supporters?
