Residential Trash, Yard & Bulk Waste

The Dunedin Solid Waste Division provides collection of household garbage (automated green cart) and yard debris/bulky items (manually) once per week. The collection of mixed recycling (automated blue cart) is currently provided by WastePro once per week. 

  • All services take place on the same day.
  • The City provides the one garbage roll cart and one blue recycling roll cart.
  • Additional garbage roll carts are available for half the monthly rate.
  • This service is provided to Dunedin residents at $30.42 per month. 

Trash

Tips & Information

  • Place all materials to the curb no earlier than 6:00 pm the night before collection, or at least by 6:30 am on the day of collection.
  • Leave at least 3 feet of space between the roll carts and other bins & fixed objects.
  • Roll Carts should be removed from the curb by 7:00 am the day following collections.
  • Additional charges for bulky items, appliances and over-sized brush or yard debris may apply (Resolution no. 06-40). Please contact Solid Waste for disposal or special service options if you receive a courtesy notice.
  • Placement of materials in the public right-of-way (curb) is done so as a request for service and will be removed by the Solid Waste Division accordingly.
  • To avoid attraction and infestation of bugs and rodents, please bag your household garbage before placing in the cart.

 

Yard

Yard Waste Services

The Dunedin Solid Waste Division provides manual collection of yard waste and bulk debris once per week on your regular garbage/recycling collection day. Place bulk items at least 3 feet away from automated automated carts and place them on the curb by 6:30 a.m.

Guidelines

  • Up to 21 sturdy bags of leaves, weighing less than 50 lbs each. If they rip, they will be left at the curb.
  • Containerize loose yard debris in personal 32 gallon Rubbermaid or equivalent cans purchased by the resident, weighing less than 50 lbs each.
  • Small manageable piles that are bundled for manual (picked up by hand) collections  and weighing less than 50 lbs, not to exceed an overall amount of 4 cubic yards (Volume of approx 2 standard refrigerators)

    *Please leave at least 3 feet of clearance between yard waste and your automated carts.

Service Level

When the service level is exceeded in one or more of the following categories you will receive courtesy notice to contact Solid Waste for alternative disposal options:

  • Yard debris not bundle/ties for manual collections
  • Bundles weigh 50+ lbs
  • Cans larger than 32ga OR weigh 50+ lbs
  • Bags too weak OR weigh 50+ lbs
  • Limbs over 4 feet in length
  • Logs over 4" in diameter
  • Overall amount exceeds 4 cubic yards total 

Bulk

Bulk Items Collection

  • Large items, such as furniture and boxes, that will not fit in the automated containers can be placed at the curb on your regular collection day. Bulk components for single family homes include up to 2 pieces of bulk per week for no additional cost.
  • Additional bulk items are permitted curbside, please contact Solid Waste (727) 298-3215 or SolidWaste@Dunedin.gov for information on what is permitted.
