The City of Dunedin operates under a nonpartisan commissioner-manager form of government. The chief executive officer, known as the City Manager, oversees the departments and annual budget. There are 13 departments with various divisions and sections that provide the services and quality of life for all Dunedin.

City Manager

The City Manager acts as the chief executive officer for the City of Dunedin. Their department establishes the City's organization and directs and supervises the leadership of all City departments.

City Clerk

The City's clerk is responsible for maintaining all public records, preparing agendas, minutes, proclamations, notices, and more for the commission and other public meetings. They are also responsible for overseeing the City's elections and the City's cemetery.

Communications

The Communications Department supports all City Departments in an effort to keep citizens engaged and informed via the City of Dunedin website, City of Dunedin social media channels, Livestream Commission meetings, and the weekly DunediNEWS e-newsletter.

Community Development

Community Development is responsible for the maintenance and administration of the Comprehensive Plan and the Land Development Code including planning, zoning, development review, as well as enforcement of the City's Property Maintenance Code and the Florida Building Code.

Economic & Housing Development

Through a strong tax base and healthy local economy, Economic Development provides the City of Dunedin a high level of commercial goods and services, and employment and housing opportunities resulting in a sense of community and high quality of life.

Finance

The Finance department is responsible for all accounting, budgeting, financing, purchasing, and cash management for the City. They safeguard the City's assets, manage investment portfolios, debt management, and provide financial support to other City departments.

Fire Rescue

Dunedin's Fire Rescue promotes fire and health safety preparedness through prevention and education. They enhance the quality of life for all citizens and respond in emergency situations.

Human Resources and Risk Management

Human Resources provides administrative support to all City departments pertaining to personnel. This includes but is not limited to recruitment, selection, performance management, retirement, payroll, and benefits.

Library

The Dunedin Public Library provides popular materials, reference services, and educational support for all ages of residents of Dunedin and Pinellas County.

Parks and Recreation

The Dunedin Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide array of classes and programs for all ages and abilities to help improve your physical, mental and social well-being. Get outdoors and explore the many beautiful, community parks and playgrounds.

Public Works

Public Works is responsible for the City's fleet of vehicles, streets, sidewalks, stormwater infrastructure, facilities, and trash and recycling services.

Utilities & Engineering

The Utilities Department is responsible for the Water, Wastewater, and Reclaimed Water Systems throughout the City of Dunedin. The Utility Billing Division handles monthly billing services. The Engineering Division plans and implements the City's Capital Improvement Program.
