What does Independence Day mean to you and your family? For many, it’s a day to come together to celebrate what we value most: our freedom and community. In my family, the 4th of July has always been about backyard picnics, sharing stories across generations, and lying out blankets to catch the fireworks show. Fireworks have been a beloved tradition of Independence Day since 1777, when the first anniversary of America’s independence was marked by a dazzling display in Philadelphia. That tradition continues today, lighting up skies across the country every July. As we honor the birth of our nation, families and friends come together to celebrate. Whether you’re cheering with friends or neighbors during the fireworks or singing along to music, Hometown USA brings us closer as a community.

The City of Dunedin invites you to celebrate America’s independence at the annual “Hometown USA” event! Join us on Friday, July 4, 2025, at TD Ballpark for an evening of patriotic fun and a spectacular fireworks show. The festivities kick off at 6 PM with the Dunedin Goes Carting patriotic golf cart parade, which travels through downtown Dunedin and proceeds to TD Ballpark in a festive procession of creatively decorated golf carts. The stadium gates will open at 6:15 PM, so make sure to arrive early to enjoy all the exciting activities that await inside! Kids will love the face painting, interactive games, and various activities designed to entertain guests of all ages. Don’t forget to stop by the selfie booth to snap a fun, patriotic photo with your friends and family!

Adding to the excitement of the event, live music will fill the air as the evening kicks off. Our lineup of entertainment is sure to keep your toes tapping and spirits high throughout the night. As part of the evening’s festivities, we’re proud to present a special screening of the film The Rookie on the stadium’s big screen. At 9:30 PM, prepare to be dazzled by a breathtaking display of fireworks that will light up the night sky with brilliant colors and stunning effects. This moment is a highlight of the evening, and you won’t want to miss the crowd’s collective “oohs” and “ahhs” in patriotic wonder.

Come dressed in your most spirited red, white, and blue attire, and bring your family and friends to Dunedin’s “Hometown USA” event. This is a FREE community celebration open to all, and it’s the perfect way to make memories that will last a lifetime.
