A delegation from the City of Dunedin traveled to Tallahassee from March 24 to 25 to engage with state elected officials regarding the City's legislative platform. This initiative was undertaken as part of the Florida League of Cities' Legislative Action Days, an annual event that facilitates connectivity and collaboration between municipal leaders and state policymakers.
During their visit, the Dunedin delegation, including Mayor Moe Freaney, Commission Walker, Commissioner Dugard, Commissioner Sandbergen and Strategy & Sustainability Manager Nicole Delfino, participated in one-on-one and group league meetings with officials aimed at advocating for policies and initiatives that align with the City's priorities.
The Florida League of Cities' Legislative Action Days provides a platform for municipal leaders across the state to collaborate and present a unified voice on issues affecting local governments. During this visit, the City delegation met with Senator Hooper, Senator DiCeglie, Senator Boyd’s Office, Representative Anderson, Representative Berfield, Representative Owen and Department of Environmental Protection Deputy Secretary Blalock.
By participating in this event, Dunedin's commissioners underscored their commitment to ensuring that the City's interests are well-represented at the state level. The City remains dedicated to fostering strong relationships with state officials and advocating for legislative measures that support the community's objectives. The Commission looks forward to continued collaboration with state leaders to advance policies beneficial to Dunedin and its residents.
