The Southwest Florida Water Management District has declared a Phase 3 water shortage. Effective 4/3, Dunedin water customers will be limited to 4 hours of potable water irrigation on their assigned day. The new restrictions will not impact reclaimed water usage.

Dunedin residents gathered at the Hale Senior Activity Center on Tuesday, September 15, for the City’s Property Tax Town Hall Meeting. The event provided an opportunity for community members to learn more about property taxes in Dunedin and potential changes to Florida’s property tax structure ahead of the November general election.
The event featured former Florida state Sen. Jeff Brandes, Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri and Dunedin Mayor Maureen “Moe” Freaney, with Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce President Charlie Justice serving as moderator.
The discussion focused on property taxes and their role in funding local services as well as potential changes to Florida’s property tax structure and what they could mean for Dunedin.
A second Property Tax Town Hall is scheduled for October 6 at the Hale Senior Activity Center. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and will be livestreamed on the City website, Facebook, YouTube and Spectrum Cable 639. Panelists include Representative Kimberly Berfield, Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, Florida Fire Chiefs Association Past President Trip Barrs and Dunedin Mayor "Moe" Freaney.
