The City of Dunedin’s reclaimed water surcharge will go into effect February 1 and run through June 30. Reclaimed water customers will be charged an additional $2.00 for every 1,000 gallons over the assigned amount for their property size during the dry season.

Water conservation is an important community effort. The Southwest Florida Water Management District declared a Phase I Water Shortage on November 18, 2025, due to dry conditions throughout the region. The District received lower than normal rainfall during its summer rainy season and currently has a 13-inch regional rainfall deficit compared to the average 12-month total.

During the dry season, the City may temporarily pause reclaimed water service to replenish the supply for existing customers. Please follow the City’s water usage schedule when irrigating your lawn. The City recommends customers check their irrigation systems for broken pipes or damaged irrigation heads and reset timers to match assigned irrigation days and times.

Annual inspections are also underway for reclaimed water customers. The City’s Water Division staff tests each reclaimed water irrigation system and drinking water plumbing to ensure they remain separate and that no cross-connection has occurred. Customers can expect their yearly Reclaimed Water Report Card to be delivered at the time of their inspection. You can also request to receive the information earlier by calling the Water Division at 727-298-3100.
