The City of Dunedin has named Tony Mulkey as its new Parks and Recreation Director.

Mulkey joins Dunedin from the City of Tampa, where he most recently served as Director of Parks and Recreation, overseeing more than 200 park properties, 42 facilities and up to 900 employees seasonally. He also previously served as Tampa’s Special Events Superintendent, coordinating major national events like Super Bowl LV and the NCAA Women’s Final Four.

In Dunedin, Mulkey will oversee the City’s parks and recreational facilities, the Dunedin Marina and golf operations, as well as special events. His responsibilities will also include leading strategic planning, managing capital improvements and serving as the City’s liaison to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Mulkey replaces longtime Parks and Recreation Director Vince Gizzi, who retired in March after 17 years of service. Mulkey will begin his new role on July 28.
