Highlander Pool has served the city and community well for over 50 years, supporting water education, various events, and the Dunedin High School swim team. However, it has reached the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced.
The Dunedin City Commission has approved a master plan for a new Aquatic Complex in collaboration with Orlando-based Borrelli + Partners. The design phase will cost $1,343,757 and will include a competition pool with two diving boards, a zero-depth entry activity pool, two slides, a lazy river, a therapy pool, and shaded seating areas, among other amenities. The plan will also integrate the Kiwanis Sprayground.
The design is expected to be complete by late spring, with construction bids to follow. A grand opening is anticipated in fall 2026.
